Tip of the Month

Thank-You's

An important way to keep connected to your media contacts is to send them a thank-you after they have published an article or aired a story about you or your organization. Hand-written is best, however if that is not possible, even an email or phone call shows that you are aknowledging their effort.

Even if you are not completely pleased with the article, a note shows your appreciation of the work that went into writing and getting the piece approved by the publisher. Save your criticism for another time.

Building good relations with your media contacts can help you get coverage in the future, get errors corrected and pitch story ideas.
